Cloud video surveillance: your cameras, from anywhere

Cloud video surveillance means your company cameras are reachable over the internet: you open your phone or your computer and watch everything live, and the recordings sit on servers outside your building — safe even if the local equipment is stolen. With Xeqmate, that works with the cameras you already own.

Concept

What is cloud video surveillance?

Cloud video surveillance means monitoring cameras over the internet: instead of the footage being recorded only on a box inside your building (the DVR — the recorder usually wired to the cameras), it is sent to secure servers on the internet, the "cloud". From there you watch live and review recordings on your phone or computer, wherever you are, and you get alerts when something happens.

There is no need to buy new cameras or install a server: the cameras or the recorder your company already has are connected to the platform, and the platform handles recording, alerts and access. If you prefer the technical explanation — protocols and architecture — it is all on the cloud VMS page.

Practical benefits

What changes in your day-to-day

See the cameras from anywhere

Live, on your phone (Android and iOS apps) or on your computer (in the browser). Several company sites in the same dashboard, and each team member sees only the cameras you release to them.

Recordings kept safely off site

Footage lives on servers on the internet, not only on the recorder in your back room. If the DVR is stolen, damaged or tampered with, the recordings stay intact in the cloud — precisely the footage you will need most.

Real-time alerts

The platform analyses the footage with artificial intelligence and pings your phone when it detects a person, a vehicle or motion in the zone and time window you define — instead of somebody having to stare at screens.

No server to maintain

No dedicated computer, no software updates, no recording hardware to service: the infrastructure belongs to the platform, and you pay a monthly subscription per camera.

Getting started

How it works, in 3 steps

1. Book a demo

A free conversation of about 30 minutes in which we connect one of your company cameras live — you see your own footage in the platform before deciding anything.

2. Connect what you already have

Cameras and recorders (DVR/NVR) of any brand are connected to the platform over the internet, with no hardware swap. Together we set how many days each camera is kept.

3. Follow it from your phone

Your team gets their logins, each with its own permissions, and starts watching cameras, reviewing recordings and receiving alerts — from wherever they are.

Prerequisites

What you need to get started

  • Cameras or a recorder (DVR/NVR): the ones you already have will do, any brand. There is no need to buy special "cloud" cameras.
  • Internet at the site, with enough upload: cameras send video all day long, so what matters is not the download speed the provider advertises but the upload speed. How many cameras fit depends on each one’s resolution and settings — we do that maths with you during the demo, before connecting everything.
  • Nothing else: no server, no software to install on a computer, no construction work. Access is through the browser and the mobile apps.

Once connected, each camera’s footage is kept for the period you choose — the details of how that storage works are on cloud camera recording.

Segments

Is it right for my company?

Xeqmate serves companies and organisations, not individual consumers. A few scenarios where cloud video surveillance is used today:

Beyond watching and recording, the platform reads vehicle plates automatically — useful for gatehouses and car parks; see the license plate recognition (LPR) page — and bundles more than 12 modules into the same subscription, from facial recognition to front-desk control.

FAQ

Questions about cloud video surveillance

No. Cameras, DVRs and NVRs of any brand connect to the platform over the internet. The artificial intelligence runs on Xeqmate servers, so ordinary cameras start producing smart alerts with no extra equipment.

In the cloud model, streaming depends on the internet: with no connection the camera cannot send video and that period is not recorded in the cloud. For operations that need guaranteed local recording, Xeqmate offers an on-premise mode in which a server inside your own infrastructure records the footage — on the same platform.

You choose, camera by camera — 7, 15 or 30 days, for example. Footage older than the chosen period is deleted automatically. If you need to keep a clip for longer, just export and download it: the clip stays available for 30 days.

Only the users you register, each with their own permissions — you can release just a few cameras to each person. Every access is written to an audit trail, two-factor authentication (2FA) is available, and the platform is built around data-protection principles (GDPR, LGPD and CCPA).

The model is a monthly subscription per camera, sized by image quality and the recording days you choose, with a monthly minimum — no server purchase, no perpetual license. The price for your scenario is worked out during the free demo, based on your own cameras.

A DVR records footage on a disk inside your building: if it is stolen, damaged, or the disk fails, the recordings are gone. In the cloud, footage leaves the site in real time and is stored on external servers, reachable from anywhere. The DVR can even stay in service — it is connected to the platform as the camera source.

Not directly: Xeqmate is a platform for companies and organisations — integrators, central stations, security companies, residential communities, schools and public safety. If you are a resident, the route is through a security company or integrator that uses the platform.
